Rock Solid Bass Preamp + Fuzz

The Rock Solid takes the solid state preamp circuit from a '70s era Peavey 400 Bass amplifier and puts it on your pedalboard. NOS transistors and germanium diodes are hand selected to ensure that this pedal captures the sound of the original unit. Powered from a standard 9V supply, the voltage is boosted to 24V internally to properly bias the circuit and give you a ridiculous amount of output volume. The fuzz circuit blends in hard-clipped germanium diodes, with a control to soften the clipping, and can be activated using the second foot switch.

These will be made to order after the initial run and are partially hand-populated with specialty parts, so these sit at a slightly higher price point than our other pedals. 

IMPORTANT NOTES: 

• The "Blend" and "Fuzz" knobs are not intuitively named on the amp. Fuzz controls the amount that the fuzz circuit is blended in, while Blend softens the clipping character of the fuzz circuit. 
• This preamp sounds best when run through a cabinet or cab sim. If your bass cab has a tweeter, you will want to turn it off since the circuit is designed to compliment the frequency response of large diameter speakers.
• 9V DC only! The voltage is boosted internally and higher input voltages could cause the pedal to malfunction.
